Slavists in Pittsburgh

The Embassy of Poland, Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America and Polish National Tourist Office coordinated their efforts to prepare an exhibit during the National Convention of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies (AAASS). This year the Convention took place in Pittsburgh from November 21 to November 24, 2002. Similarly to the previous years, the program of the conference was extremely interesting and varied, as it covered a broad spectrum of issues related to culture, history, languages, politics and economy of Russia, Central Eurasia and Eastern and Central European countries. The Convention of AAASS was an excellent opportunity to strengthen networks linking individuals, organizations and institutions devoted to the advancement of knowledge about the region. As usual, the Polish exhibit booth attracted a lot of attention, especially of scholars whose interest lies in Polish studies.
