President Bush inviting President Kwaśniewski to Washington with the state visit has confirmed that Poland - “an old friend and the new ally” - has become a strategic American partner. Both Presidents’ policy aims at creating “a whole and free Europe”. Both view the unbreakable transatlantic bonds as an indispensable condition to win the war on terrorism. Both also believe that further enlargement of NATO and EU is necessary to promote and strengthen democratic values in every corner of the old continent.
