Meeting with Professor Anna Jaroszyńska-Kirchmann

May 24th 2005 Professor Anna Jaroszyńska-Kirchmann, Eastern Connecticut State University, presented her latest book - "The Excile Mission, the Polish Political Diaspora and Polish Americans, 1939-1956" at a book event organized by the Polish Embassy in Washington D.C.
The book is a compelling analysis of the debate about ethnic identity and immigrant responsibility toward the homeland. It examines the Polish immigrants’ groups in the United States. The Excile Mission is a first full-length examination of the interaction between political refugees and established ethnic communities. Dr. Bogusław Winid introduced the author.

During the event Pro Memoria awards were presented to the Polish veteransRomuald Lipiński, Feliks Pawlisz and Władysław Zachariasiewicz.

Mr. Zachariasiewicz received also a Gold Medal form the National Council of “Wspólnota Polska”.
